“I had the pleasure of working with Gordon Burrows on Peacock’s Fight Night, and his knowledge and expertise are unparalleled. His deep understanding of firearms—both modern and historical—made the entire experience seamless and incredibly educational.

What truly sets Gordon apart is his wealth of knowledge regarding the historical context of each weapon. Whether discussing the evolution of firearms through different eras or explaining the significance of specific models in various conflicts, his insights added an extra layer of depth to the experience. His ability to break down the mechanics of how weapons function—covering everything from internal mechanisms to proper handling techniques—was invaluable. He has a rare ability to make complex concepts clear and engaging, ensuring that every detail is both understood and respected.

As an actor, working with firearms on set can sometimes feel intimidating, but Gordon made the process incredibly comfortable. His thorough explanations, hands-on guidance, and patience helped me feel completely at ease, allowing me to focus on my performance with confidence. Knowing that I was in expert hands made all the difference on the day of shooting, and I was able to approach every scene with a level of assurance and authenticity.

His commitment to safety and authenticity, combined with his experience as an Army veteran, brings a level of discipline and firsthand experience to his work. Every step of the process was handled with precision and care, and his passion for the craft was evident in everything he did. I look forward to working with him again in the future!”

“Working with Take One Tactical on “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” was incredible. The expertise they showed, along with their clarity of communication and personal connection, allowed me to feel safe and knowledgeable. Before training with Take One Tactical, I had no knowledge of firearms. They taught me the ins and outs of weaponry, which will carry me forth to many future projects. Couldn’t recommend enough”

“Gordon has an incredible commitment to making firearms in film feel real—not just look real, but feel right. As a VFX Supervisor, I rely on that kind of attention to detail to seamlessly blend practical and digital effects, and working with him was a game-changer. He just gets it. From the distinct shape and color of muzzle flashes to the right bullet ejection patterns, realistic recoil —he helped us nail every detail. Plus, the training and video references he provided were invaluable. Gordon isn’t just another armorer; he understands what American audiences expect when it comes to guns on screen, and more importantly, he knows how to get it right. He’s one of the few people who can truly help bring back trust and safety to the art of in-camera gunplay.”

“It’s such a special treat when you get to write a glowing recommendation about a colleague who excels in their profession and Gordon Burrows is one of those rare, talented individuals.
I had the pleasure of doing a TV show with Gordon right after the COVID shutdown- it was a weapon heavy show, often featuring big shootouts with multiple styles of guns. This was a big show for any armorer, but working with Gordon, the process was always smooth, safe, and efficient. There was never a question in my mind about safety because Gordon had trained every single actor on how to use a firearm, he cleared every firearm each time it went back into the actor’s hands, and he communicated to the team what to expect while guns were on set. His process is smooth, he understands the concerns and safety issues from a production standpoint, and is meticulous at making sure his safety protocols are met. Gordon also has a fabulous language with creatives- from the director to the actors, he has a way of making people who come from various gun handling backgrounds feel confident and safe while handling their weapons. And while safety and professionalism are important, one of my favorite qualities about Gordon is he’s just a shining example of a good guy- he’s a true team player, he doesn’t make anyone feel badly about asking a question in regards to the weapons being used, and he’s an incredible wealth of knowledge in the tactical field. As a producer, he is always my first call when I need a tactical advisor or armorer because he is simply the best in the business and has no ego about it. It is a joy to know him and you are truly blessed if you get to work with Gordon Burrows.”
